INTRA CRANIAL CYST: ARACHNOID CYST VS EPIDERMOID CYST VS DERMOID CYST

Arachnoid Cyst

TIWI: Hipointense (sama dengan CSF)

T2WI: Hiperintense (sama dengan CSF)

DWI: Unrestricted

Flair: Hipointense

suprasellar cistern (see suprasellar arachnoid cyst)

within the ventricles (see intraventricular arachnoid cyst)

posterior fossa

cisterna magna (need to be distinguished from a mega cisterna magna)

cerebellopontine angle (need to be distinguished from an epidermoid cyst)

spinal canal (see spinal arachnoid cysts)

Epidermoid cyst

T1WI: Isointense to hipo (sama dengan CSF)

T2WI: Hiperintense (sama dengan CSF)

DWI: Restricted

Flair: Heterogen intensity

intradural: 90%

cerebellopontine angle: 40-50%

third most common cerebellopontine angle mass, after acoustic schwannomas and meningiomas, and accounts for approximately 5-10% of all tumors in this region 2,4,8

suprasellar cistern: 10-15% 8

fourth ventricle: ~17% 8

middle cranial fossa

interhemispheric: < 5% 9,10

spinal (rare)

extradural: 10%

most within skull

Dermoid Cyst

T1WI: Hiperintense (jika mengandung fat) terkadang mengandung kalsifikasi)

T2WI: Bervariasi (hipo to hiper)

DWI: Bervariasi (bisa restricted bisa unrestricted)

Flair: Bervariasi (hipo to hiper)

  • midline sellar and suprasellar
  • parasellar
  • frontonasal region
  • posterior fossa/vermis
